Why did we create this blog?

The Amazon is decreasing at an alarming speed. In fact, experts estimate the rainforest could disappear in the next 40 years. This is a huge problem because once the Amazon is gone, we will lose all nearly 1/10th of the earth's wildlife species. Our class is looking at various species found in the Amazon and posting information about the animals and their dependency on the rainforest. We hope that you will become aware that losing the trees means losing all these magnificent plants and animals as well!

Coati

Coatis are usually black and brown striped with spots and travel in groups of 10to20 coatis.

The coati lives in Brazil and south of the Amazon rainforest,

They eat snakes, lizards, eggs, plants, and other animals.

Deforestation gives them no home no food and no safety.
